Hey, everyone.

I've got a relatively robust application that I'd like to get hosted, and
I'm looking for a service that will offer the ability to run as an
application (web.config and all, so Brinkster's probably out) and use SQL
Server.

What have your experiences been? Are you using or have you used a
particularly good .NET hosting service (preferrably with a decent monthly
price)?

In addition, has anyone here had any experience with self-hosting? I'm
currently doing that, but I can't get through port 80 on my ISP, so I have
to use the stupid looking alternative port numbers....

www.maximumasp.com is my first choice.

I find them to be very reasonble for price (I think they are still $10yr
with some very nice perks).
Check it out.

Hi Thurman:

This company, http://www.InnerHost.com/ , is quite good.

They offer many of included useful services and their service plans are
extensible, up to and including industrial strength packages.

Anyway, I did a bit of research on this same question and came up with
InnerHost as one of the top players.

(The preceeding was an unpaid recommendation for InnerHost. The author is
in no way affiliated with InnerHost and gets paid nothing. But should, is a
just world. Perhaps. At least a "thank you" would be nice.)

I also strongly recommend webhost4life.com. All the research I did, showed
them as the least expensive. .Net hosting starts at 19.99/mo - 50 meg
storage and SQL Server 2000 is included at no extra change. I have been
using them for 4 months with NO problems

Check out the ratings on the IIS Host List for the companies that offer
asp.net hosting.

For the ultimate in speed, reliability and support, MaximumASP.com is the
best. Support response times are under an hour, 24 hrs a day...I've very
happy with them. And you get dedicated bandwidth, guaranteed equal to two
T1's (doesn't sound like much? Ask your host how much bandwidth they
guarantee...nothing probably).

They implement best practice hosting in every fashion. Not cheap, but
great.

I started usspargo.org on securewebs.com in January. I've been highly
satisfied with the quality of their support. I use SQLServer 2000, and
I deploy through FrontPage 2002. It may not be the least expensive
around, but I feel I've been getting a good value.

I took a look at this site and I must say that the plans sound good.

I went to some of the sites hosted there and found that response time
on them was very slow. Meaning that from click time to getting data
back through the pipe was not very fast. That could have been the
fault of the web designers and not the host though...
