When executing any asp.net page on my server, multiple
instances of aspnet_wp.exe are created. One of them
(usually/always the newest one) consumes 50% or more of
both CPUs with only one page request. With multiple
requests, several (5 to 7) aspnet_wp.exe processes are
created, each consuming as much of the two CPUs as it can
bringing the server to it's knees. Plain Html pages are
served normally without a problem.

Server Info:
Dual Pentium III 500 mhz
Windows 2000 Server with SP4
.Net Framework 1.1
512 meg of ram

The WebGarden setting in machine.config is set to false.

The executed asp.net page can be as simple as
printing "Hello World". The page takes about 10 to 15
seconds to execute on each request not just the first
request. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the .Net
Framework with no success.

Anyone have any ideas?

How would I go about reparing IIS? Would I do this by
reinstalling IIS?

Thanks,
Mike
