How to recreate a recovered version of a document which was not sa

Hi,
I was writing my theeses when my computer crashed, when I got it started
again and opened my file the recovered version came up, but before I had a
chance to safe it my computer chrashed again. And when I got it up and
running again I couldn't find the recovered file only the document, which (I
know this is stupid and I should have known better) I didnt safe for hours.

I would be greatfull if anyone could help. I have tryed to seek for
recovered dokuments, also in the trash, but I can only seem to find these
"emty" files, with no standard program.
