I hope that someone here may be able to help me resolve my sound
recording problem.
I have a Creative SB Live! sound card, running on Win2K.
I can play cd's, dvd's, record and playback audio directly from cd/dvd/
avi/mpg files etc. The mic and line in work, that is, any sound input
to the mic/line input is output through the pc speakers/headphone.
Problem is I can't record audio.
I recently installed a dvd burner, and directx 9.0b was
included in the install. I ran DXDIAG and it says I have directx 9.0c.
I looked at the audio page of DXDIAG and the SB Live shows only an
output - no input, whereas other devices (e.g. USB midi shows both
input and output).
Perhaps directx 9.0c isn't compatible with my SB Live! card? The card
IS rather ancient, I know. I'd rather not run out and buy a new card,
as the Live card is all I need right now.
Perhaps an older version of directx is in order?
Any suggestions very welcome, and thanks in advance,
Pete.
