Presentation Time

Hi All,

I have an basic question regarding Time stampping an frame. I am
aware that splitter/parser filters generally add the time stamp to the
encoded frame. Can same time stamp be passed till video renderer so
that AV Sync happens properly? Will there be any situation where
splitter stamps with approximate time stamp and decoder needs to
change the Time stamp accordingly? Can any one help me in
understanding this or point me some link to the Time stamping
documents.
