If dirextX 9.0c is already installed (in windows XP) the installer of version 9.0c wont reinstall. I want to reinstall because I think part of directX is corrupt. How can DirectX be forced to reinstall?

Just download the redistributable and install it.

I used directx_dec2005_redist.exe (46.1MB/47.276KB), but it checks something and reports finisched (within 2 seconds and without an error message). I dont trust it to have it reinstalled within 2 seconds. I want it to OVERWRITE the existing files so that possible corrupted/missing files are reinstalled. I run windows-XP-pro with SP2 installed. HOW DO I FORCE THE REDISTRIBUTABLE TO REINSTALL? Are there any command-line switches/options to do this?

The latest DirectX redistributable is dated April 2007 - try it.
