Downgrading my directx

I recently upgraded to 9.0c in order to play Galaxyonline
game....unfortunately the game errors saying something about not clearing
buffer only just learned that my rage pro graphics card supposedly doesnt
support dx9 and on top of that now my other games i play that require dx7 or
8 no longer run as they try running in dx9 which doesnt work.. so how do i
get my computer back to 7 or 8.0dx from 9.0?
