DirectX 9.0c Updates.

Hello to All:

When doing due diligence updates to a client's legal, XP Pro (Retail)
x86 SP3 otherwise updated system, I noticed DirectX 9.0c was installed
but probably not up-to-date.

Some of the popular system/application update checkers
(Windows/Microsoft Update, Secunia PSI, FileHippo Update Checker,
SUMo, Update Notifier) do *not* seem to check the DirectX's update
status. FileHippo at least announced the latest update though.

Running "dxdiag" and checking the System tab will provide the DirectX
version and the DirectX Files tab will tell you the file /install/ dates.

Has DirectX 9.0c update verification slipped through the cracks?

Question: What is the least labor intensive or best automated method
for verifying update status & keeping DirectX 9.0c updated?
