Music tracks on CDAs are digital: 16bits/44100Hz/stereo
LPCM, the very same data you get when you digitally rip the
tracks to WAV files. The drive mounts an audio DAC to output
an analog signal, similar to the DAC an analog sound card
mounts to output the analog signal from the digital data it
get via the PCI bus.
