Unable to update directX on Windows 7 Ultimate X64

First of all merry Christmas to all,


I'm unable to update DirectX on my computer running Window 7 Ultimate X64
with all patches installed. Every time I try to update DirectX using the
"dxwebsetup" utility I get the following error message:

"An internal system error occured. Please refer to DXError.log and
DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine the problem."

I need to "update" DirectX to play "older" games like Modern Warfare 1 and
other released some years ago.

I already found the solution and managed to install DirectX - no need to
answer my question.
