i've ran the newest direct x installers, both web and redistributable,
multiple times. i've tried running them both before and after deleting the
bad file. i get this error when i try to run fallout 3 but i don't think it
has anything to do with the game.
quad core, vista business 64, 4 gig ddr3 ram, nvidia 8800gts
i renamed the d3dx9_38.dll in both the system32 and syswow64 folders to
d3dx9_38.dll.ORIGINAL. Then ran the directx_aug2008_redist. tried fallout3
and it loaded the dll fine. then deleted the old files.
Installation was fine; it actually recognized my graphic card & auto adjust
screen righ after installation, problem is once press "Play"
Following message appears:
" fallout3.exe-Bad Image
C:\windows\system32\d3dx9_38.dll is either not designed to run on windows or
it contains an error, contact software vendor for support"
should I use same method you had succeeded? what you mean "..then delete the
old files?"
