Hi John,

I don't use the DIS Library because it has a limited memory so I'm not much
help with a question I have received from another DIP user but I know you
will have the answer :)

She asked: "I am learning PSE5 after many false starts. One question I
have - which maybe somebody can answer, is I have tagged all my supplies (a
lot) in DIP - do I have to retag them in PSE5 or is there a way to export
them. I noticed that a few of the supplies do come over tagged when
opening - but not all of them.

Your help would be appreciated.."

Thanks John

==============================
Hey, Kim,

DIS has a proprietary database that archives
metadata that cannot be written back to the
image files.

Sorry, I have no idea how to export the data
from the DIS database.

The database filename changed with each
new version:

DIS11 Version (2006):
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\
Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\
POD\Pictures.pd3

DIS10 Version:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\
Application Data\Microsoft\POD\Pictures.pd2

DIS9 Version:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\
Application Data\Microsoft\POD\Pictures.pod

The "Pictures..pd3, .pd2, or .pod" file contains
your thumbs and metadata..

Vista path:
C:\Users\>user name<\AppData\Local\
Microsoft\POD\Pictures.pd3

Just as I suspected. Thanks for the info John. I've passed it on.
