It turned out that there was nothing wrong with the profile but by then all
of the changes had been made.
Ever since then I've been unable to remove the old directory paths from
Digital Image Suite Library. Each time I start DIL it goes through a series
of error boxes saying that it cannot find "C:\Users\Admin\<directory>". I
can go into the "Add pictures to Library" function and hi-light them and
click on "Remove" and it will go through the confirmation dialogue and then
remove them from the dialogue display. However, they have not been removed
from the library -- though the displayed thumbnails don't agree with the
actual file images -- and if I exit the dialogue and then go back into "Add
pictures to Library" they are there again, as well as still being there [but
unfindable] the next time I start DIL.
I've uninstalled the application a couple of times as well as gone through
the drive looking for anything that looks like it might be the cached
thumbnails or an initialization file as well as searching through the
Registry for similar linkages. I haven't found anything yet each time I
reinstall it I'm back to the same behavior.
Does anyone know where the system is storing this old info and how I can go
about deleting or reinitializing it?
Thanks in advance,
Howard

Our Peering Groups change
Visit : http://spacesst.com/peerin
The database filename changes with each
version:
In your case...with DIP10...try renaming or
deleting the Pictures.pd2 file:
DIS10 Version:
C:\Users\>user name<\AppData\Local\
Microsoft\POD\Pictures.pd2
Just rename it to Pictures.OLD.
The next time you open the Library....a new
Pictures pd2 file will be created and the Library
should be as it was the first time you ever opened it.
More info:
On your Vista machine you can find your
database file with with an Advanced Search
for .pd2.
Go to...Start / Search / Advanced Search.
Check the box..."Include non-indexed, hidden,
and system files" Enter.pd2 in the Name field
and left click the Search button.
If you catalog lots of images, making regular
backup copies of your .pd2 file would be an
excellent idea. The path on your Vista machine
should be:
C:\Users\>user name<\AppData\Local\
Microsoft\POD\Pictures.pd2
If corruption develops, all you have to do is
replace the current .pd2, or .pod file with
your backup.
