I've got an XP driver and I want to install this driver on Vista. But when i
right click on its inf file and select 'Install', it gives the following
error msg:
"The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation"
What does this msg mean? What do i have to do to install my driver to Vista?
Thx,
Gözde
Please follow the installation instructions for that driver
(or contact it's origin if there isn't one )
Device drivers usually can not be installed in the way you described.
There are several types of INF files, for some of them the right click will
work
and for others it won't.
Vista checks for the correct type of INF file (well done, shell team!)
this is why you see this message.

Exactly same advice, again.
Also, please ask questions in microsoft.public.windows.vista.hardware_devices or microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
This NG is for developers.
