Please don't post binaries or attachments to these newsgroups. People
on timed dialup connections won't look at those messages and most
people won't open an attachment for security reasons. Just describe
the dialog you are talking about.

Sorry about that. It is the one that says "The name or email address of
this contact already exists in this folder"

You can either add as new anyway, update the existing one, or cancel.

I don't know of any way to trap that dialog, it's the one for
duplicates. If you are adding an item in code the duplicate checking
wouldn't be working anyway, you have to do your own checking in your
code.

It does fire in code. It fires when I call .save on a new contact item. If
the user clicks "Cancel" an error is raised.

The only way to prevent it would be to check yourself for a possible
duplicate prior to saving the new item then.
