We've been using 2008 R2 for a few months now and no problems. We used WDS
to roll out Windows 7 across most of PCs with no problems (relatively small
company, and we'd been testing Win7 with our apps since the first public
beta).
Anyway, a machine got a fried hard disc so we replaced it and went to boot
from WDS and it wasn't there.
We've had a couple of occurences before when WDS was just off, and we just
needed to restart the service.
Now, though, after looking through the event log we get this:
Log Name: Application
Source: WDSServer
Date: 26/11/2009 13:47:46
Event ID: 513
Task Category: WDSServer
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: Belt.nevilleregistrars.com
Description:
An error occurred while trying to initialize provider WDSDDPS from
C:\Windows\system32\wdsddps.dll. Windows Deployment Services server will be
shutdown.
Error Information: 0x906
And nothing else at all anywhere I can find.
Googling reveals absolutely nothing about wdsddps.
Its certainly nothing we've installed, so I assumed it was a default part of
WDS but its not mentioned anywhere at all.
Anyone got any ideas?
