We are running WDS in legacy mode and recently ran into a problem with a user
logging into the system in RIS Client Installation Wizard. It appears that
his password is too long. This user has a 24 character password, but the
system stops showing input after 20 characters.

To verify the problem I created a test user and set the password to 22
characters and attempted to log in via RIS. No luck. I shortened the
password to 20 characters, then logged in with no problems *even though I
actually entered the full 22 character password!*
Has anyone else seen this? It appears that RIS has a practical limit of 20
characters, and truncates anything beyond that, but I have not found
*anything* verifying this finding online.
