Is there a way to create a generic install of XP and then deploy it to
different PCs via PXE boot using WDS on 2008R2.

I apologize if this is a repetitive question but I'm trying to migrate my
old Win 2003 server RIS setup to WDS and I'm very confused with all the
available information. I'm trying to decide if WDS or MDT 2010 or a
combination of both is the right way to go.

More details.
Currently I have a RIS server setup that I use to do base installs for a
hand full of supported organizations. Each org has its own site license XP
and I use SIF files for each org to create an answer file. In addition to
XP I also copy and then install basic software packages such as Office,
Java, AV, Adobe, etc. This software is in the $oem$ folder of my RIS image
and is copied to the local PC along with the machine specific drivers. The
SIF file has commands to run individual setups as needed on first boot.

The process is quiet easy and efficient and works for any new PC that comes
in with a simple copying of the appropriate drives and adjustment to the SIF
file.

I need to as closely as possible reproduce this environment using current
tools. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Rob
