The installation that I work with has a 400+ node network. We are migrating
from Novell 4.xx to NT. For a period of time both network environments will
be accessible to the users.

Is there any automated way that I could synchronize the passwords between
the two environments (Novell and NT)?

Thanks

I'm afraid there isn't any way at all. Both NT and NW use incompatible
non-reversible encryption on passwords - so you just can't get the original
back...

Win2000 and ADS allow for reversible password encryption so you can
synchronise from ADS to other systems such as NetWare's NDS

Don't know any more about Novell and NT integration than what I learned
from having taking the MCSE program, but if you haven't already looked into it,
Microsoft provides GSNW (Gateway Services for Netware) which is supposed to
provide
"complete" integration of an NT server to act as a seamless gateway to a Novell
network.

if you have GSNW (Gateway Services for Netware) and NWLink already installed
it will synchronize the passwords between the two environments (Novell and
NT).

Hi there!

So what happened?? Did it worked?? When a NW client logs on is he (she)
automatically logged to NT environment. Does the same works for NW 5.0 and
NT 4.0.

Tks,
