Help anyone! Came up with the following problem. I got a customer install
cable modem kit. I had the option of a usb installation or an ethernet
installation. I went usb because the kit didn't come with an ethernet card.
The cable modem installation software told me I needed an updated usb driver
and I let it install it. The cable modem would not work after that. Calls to
Comcast didn't help any. I finally went and bought a ethernet card and
installed the modem with the ethernet option. Since the failed usb cable
modem installation any time I tried to print something (to my HP 932C usb
printer which had been working flawlessly for years) my machine would reboot
in the middle of printing. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the printer and
usb drivers - no change. I tried printing from safe mode - no change. 2 + 2
is 4. The failed cable modem installation is the problem. Of course Comcast
just tells me if I have a printer problem I should call HP, it's not their
problem. I now have a digital camera with a usb connection to get the
pictures to the computer. Trying to transfer them also reboots the machine.
I have since hooked up the printer parallel to get around the printing
problem. There's no getting around the camera problem. Anyone have any
ideas?

Regards,
Andy
