I am having some real trouble with one of our servers. This problem
started last week. I am not able to get the synchronization with
integrity check to run. It fails every time I run it.

Yesterday I decide to scrap the from the protection group. Remove the
dpm agent, then recreate the protection. After a few reboots it looked
like the problem was solved but at 8:00pm last evening the problem
started again.

This is DPM 2006 Version 1.0.2729.0

Here is the detail of the alert message.

The replica of C:\ on MIS-SRV is inconsistent with the protected data
source. All protection activities for data source will fail until the
replica is synchronized with consistency check. (ID 3106)

An unexpected error occurred during replication of C:\ on MIS-SRV. (ID
104 Details: The parameter is incorrect (0x80070057))

Thanks in advance for you help.

Steve - have you upgraded to SP1 of DPM 2006? A bunch of issues with
consistency checks, especially ID 104, were fixed in SP1. Can you try
upgrading and rertying the consistency check? If this issue still persists,
then we'll need to get you the debugging tools to capture the traces.

Thanks,

I thought SP1 was applied quite a few months ago.

Just for grins I re-applied it, the system did not ask for a re-boot and
the Admin console loaded.

The server we are having trouble with was rebooted earlier today.

I added back the shares from that server to the protection group and DPM
is creating the replica now. We'll see what happens later today.

How does one determine if SP1 is applied?

Thanks!

I have a DPM 2006 SP1 installed on a W2003 R2, and I am protecting a Server
with Windows 2003 x64. I always get this error:

La réplica de F:\ en SERVER no coincide con el origen de datos protegidos.
Se producirán errores en todas las actividades de protección para los origen
de datos hasta que la réplica se sincronice con comprobación de coherencia.
(ID: 3106)
Agente de archivos de DPM no pudo realizar una comprobación de coherencia en
el archivo
\\?\Volume{0ce31f6c-020e-11dc-8f10-0016e6d3f486}\BASES2\TRAI93.XG0 del
volumen F:\ en SERVER. (ID: 50) Details: Unknown error (0xc0000034)
(0xc0000034)

I know it is in spanish, but I guess errors number are the same.

I have reinstalled DPM and the agent a couple times but always same error.

Thanks.
