I am trying out DPM 2007 SP1 to back up Exchange 2007 SP1 data.

I have created a protection group with only a short-term scheme, backing up
to disk. The protection group seems to be functioning as expected -- no
errors in logs, able to recover as expected, etc.

However, I cannot seem to choose the Modify Protection Group nor Stop
Protection Group options in the GUI. They are grayed out, and nowhere can I
click to get them to be available. I'm able to remove the protection group.

Am I missing something simple? Thanks!

Hi Patrick,
This happens even if you select the Protection Group and right click it. The
"Stop Protection of group" should not be greyed out here.

Thanks

Hi,

The "Stop protection of group" isn't an option in the right-click menu on
the protection group. "Stop protection of member..." is an option available
to me, but I don't want to use it. In the Action pane in the MMC console,
even when the protection group is highlighted, "Modify protection group..."
and "Stop protection of group..." are grayed out.

I realized what I was doing wrong -- I had highlighted a protection group
*member* rather than the whole protection group. I can now modify the
protection group properties.

Sorry, and thanks for your help!
