Hello!

During the process of creation protection group (selecting data sources -
Folders) i have this error:
*************************************************
One or more prerequisites for protecting this data source is missing.

Ensure that the following prerequisite software is installed on
ala01-data01.domain.local and/or all nodes in the cluster:

Windows Server 2003 SP1 with Knowledge Base article 940349
(http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=99034)
- OR –
Windows Server 2008 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=128812)

If you have already installed the required prerequisite, refresh the agent
status in the management tab and try again.

ID: 31309

*************************************************
And the status of all the protection agents is unknown.
All OSs are Win2008.
The DPM Server OS is Win2008 R2.
The "client's" OS where the error emerges is Win2008.

Has somebody bumped into such kind of error?

Don't know what to do.

Thank You.

Do you have any older version of SQL being installed on the
production server? Can you please make sure that each of the SQL server is
running on its latest service pack? Also can you please check if you have
any older version products that can be backed-up by DPM also running with
its latest Service packs and updates? If you are still facing this problem,
can you please re-try the operation by running the tool present at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=14392186-6707-45a5-8987-29665abbd6f5&displaylang=en
and pass the logs to Praveend[at]microsoft[dot]com. Please find the tool
usage details in Readme.doc found in %Windir%\MPSReports\DPM\doc.

Thanks,

Hello!
Thank You for reply.
Yes I have SQL 2005 (Default Instance) installation on production DBMS
System. There are totally two instances of different versions - 2005 and 2008.
I'm going to collect the information and send you.

Best regards, Alexey.

...May be this will clarify something more...

I had an installation of DPM 2007 on the initial SQL 2005 instance. I
removed it and installed new DPM 2010 installation on a freshly installed OS
Server 2008 R2.

Thnak You.

After the log analysis, showing incorrect links is found to be known
issue which will be fixed in RC. Apart from this it got resolved on doing a
agent status refresh on the Agent management tab.
