I have written an application which connects to MSAccess 97 & 2000 databases
using ADO but intermittently the users receive an OLE Error 800A0E7F.
Does anyone know what this error is and what might be causing it ?
Cheers
Stuart
What is an error message? Error code looks strange and I cannot find
anything related to it. Do you know which line of code generates that error?

It seems to happen intermittently when an attempt is made to open a
connection using ConnectionObject.Open or querying the current connection
state using ConnectionObject.State.
A search using Google found someone with the same problem and they where
advised that the description of the error is as follows :
adErrStillExecuting 3711
-2146824577
0x800A0E7F Operation cannot be performed while executing asynchronously.
I sent an E-mail to this person but unfortunately it was returned as
un-deliverable.
Other error messages intermittently received by the users which may or may
not be related are :
Access violation at address 1F433686 in module 'msado15.dll'. Read of
address C1000800.
Access violation at address 1F431571 in module 'msado15.dll'. Read of
address 00000008.
All the users are running Windows XP SP1 connected to Windows 2000 server
with SP3.
Any further help you can give would be appreciated
Cheers

Try to run Component Checker utility from MDAC to see if MDAC installation
is not corrupted. Is it running fine on another PC?

The OLE and Access Violation errors are occurring intermittently on a number
of machines running the application. All machines run XP Professional with
SP1.

Thanks for the reply. Yesterday I went to site and ran the component checker
on 2 machines which have been experiencing this problem. As far as I can
determine from the information given there does not seem to be any major
problems with the ADO setup on either machine. But if you would like to see
the results then let me know where I can send the Saved Summary Report, File
details, COM details etc..
Cheers
