Problems with MDAC 2.8

I installed MDAC 2.8 on my Win 2000 (sp4). It went successful. But now it's
like som files wern't installed, it's like the were locked by the OS.

The MDAC doesn't wotk at all. When trying to login (using ado) it just won't
login, and when starting then ODBC Manager, I'm getting the error message:
"THE ODBC resource DLL (odbcint.dll) is a different version than the
administrator (odbcad32.exe)."

Could you please run the the Microsoft MDAC component checker tool on the
system(s) with the problem to diagnose the issues and post the results? You
can download the latest copy of the checker tool from

Now I hav reinsalled Win 2000 and SP 4 over the old installation, and now it
seems to be working with the MDAC.
