Query is too slow

Hi,

I use : Win2000, Access2000 mdb, VB6 SP4, Jet 4.0

I make a new query by changing the recordsource and send a refresh. Now I
want to use this data but the query isn't finished yet. I've added a timer
to do the refreshing and then it works but this is a pretty lame approach...

Any suggestions ?
