Hi

I'm having problems running Windows Update on a Motorola Q9h running Windows
Mobile 6 Standard.

When Windows Update is run the process fails with the message:

"Connection to update server was not available. Check your data connections
settings and ensure the device date and time are correct."

The data settings appear to be ok as IE, Email, Opera, and Mcafee Update all
work fine and connect to Internet resources.

Anyone know why this problem is ocurring and how it can be fixed?

Hello

You can send an email to wmdu...@microsoft.com to report the error
message. I assume they will get back to you (at least I hope so)

I have exactly he same problem and so do many other WM6 users. I'd just like
to know if anything is going to be done about this issue.

I am having a problem with my phone as well.
After I turn on the phone it will not go past the "Microsoft Mobile," screen.
I have taken out the battery and sim card and put it back again. Still the
same problem. I'm not sure if its a problem with the phone or Microsoft.
Any suggestions?

Remove the battery - Hold down the * and E key while powering up the unit.
Make sure the battery is fully charged. This will perform a Master Reset and
fix any corrupt files you may have received.

Dear Rips,

I am having the same problem wtih an Omnia SGH-i900 with Windows Mobile 6.1.
Window update gives same error message. I am running up to date XP SP3 home
edition. ActiveSync 4.5 works fine. My research on the net indicates that it
is a common problem and the Windows server is the culprit. What is the
solution?

Thanks Bilby

Same problem here and I can't believe that neither Samsung (with all their
hype at the launch) nor Microsoft seem to care to try and resolve this. Hmm I
guess we are all a bit too insignificant.

Does anyone have any new word?

This issue doesn't seem to be being taken care of. I don't care if there
aren't any updates, I just want it to say so instead of telling me that my
connection is bad, when it is most definitely not. I have been a Windows
Mobile fan since before it was called Windows Mobile but I will be soon
switching to an Android. I hope Microsoft pulls it together, they're losing
fast.
