I am getting an error when I open a Workflow and try to list all of the
Workflows. The query times out with a very lenghty error that starts like
this:

[SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to
completion of the operation or the server is not responding.]

Occasionally, it completes the listing.

I have turned on tracing and I do not get any better answers than what I am
seeing in the GUI or in the Event Viewer on the server.

Does anyone have any input on this issue?

Nangard;

Sounds like your AsyncOperationsbase table has become too large. Have a
look at the following article for instructions on how to purge old workflow
history. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968520/en-us
