Outlook Client authentication prompt issue

In our corporate environment we have installed the CRM Outlook client for MS
CRM 4.0 and we are finding half the users are receiving an random
authentication prompt.
The prompt is titled 'Connect to ..server_name..' with the message
'Connecting to ..server_name..'. Similar to the prompt show here:

(but this is nothing to do with codeplex or TFS)
If the user clicks cancel the prompt will bounce back, after clicking cancel
four times it goes away and there is no further prompts for the rest of the
day. The next day it will happen again. If the user clicks cancel there is no
functionality lose to CRM.
All our users have a standard operating environment (SOE) so our Internet
Explorer settings are all the same. Our SOE is Outlook 2007, IE 7.0, Vista
SP1.
