Creat Marketing List based on Product and Contact

I am tring to use Advanced Find to query Contacts that Allow Email and have
purchased products with a certain attribute. I have a product attribute
called "Department". I have tried using various tables in advanced find and
can't seem to be able to link Contacts and Products thru Related Views. Does
anyone know if this is possible? If thru creating a relationship between the
2 entities, what type of relatonship?

Ryan,
First, I'm assuming you are using the OOB Contacts and Products
tables. If so, then you are correct, there are no relationships
between these tables. That's because Products is like a reference
table. I suspect what you need to do is focus on the third table
where these two tables (Contacts and Products) both have a
relationship. For example, Orders. (Whatever table indicates that
this Contact purchased this Product - as you mentioned above that the
Contacts have "purchased products"...)

So, let's just assume Orders is where you store the purchased
products. Try writing the advanced find with the Orders entity as the
primary entity. Then, you should find a relationship from Orders to
Contacts. Use that one to find all contacts that Allow Email. Then,
using the relationship between Orders and Products, you can select the
Products one, and enter the Department you are looking for in that
part of the query....
