I was using IE7 and when I edit our site, each time I edit a page a new CMS
HTML toolbar appears in my browser.

i have tried to delete the activeX control, in hope that when I load the
page the control will download again.... alas the problem reoccurred.

I then upgraded my IE to IE8 and was prompted to download the activeX
control when I tried to edit the site... this time the same thing happened
again, multiple CMS HTML tool bars.

How can i stop this?

thank you

I don't have an answer, but I have the same problem. Anyone else experienced
this and have a fix?

Possibly...."this will happen if you are hiding placeholder controls
dynamically (e.g. using javascript code). That is not allowed. You
need to ensure that html placeholder controls are never hidden." -
from a previous post by Stefan.

Also, are you modifying the render of the control? If so, try
removing the modification and seeing it if renders correctly OOTB.
