My question is this does anyone know if this claim real
and if it is are there any way to correct it. Preferable
not wipeing out everything in my system or throwing out
hte window. If anyone can help I would appreciated it.

If this is the case, you will need to get the MPEG codec
from another source, such as another movie player. I
obtained a MPEG codec from another video editor (not from
Microsoft), and Windows Media Player now plays my .m2p's
just fine.
