Hard Drive Partition

I have an HP pc,model number,t3455.uk,which I bought that had a demo version
of Windows Media Center on it.
I tried over-writing the WMC with XP Pro SP2 but found that instead of
overwriting the disk it only added XP Pro SP2 to the very small partitioned
part of the HD(the partition only being 5GB of a possible 200GB)which still
contained the WMC demo.
This has meant that applications cant be written to the HD because it is
nearly all used,only 200kb is available.
The RAM in the pc is 1GB and it is a Dual Processor type pc.
I have tried formatting the drives(H and C)but keep getting told that its
not possible.
The allocation of both drives is 4096mb(I found this out when I tried
formatting)which is very small in my book when the drive contains 200GB(IDE
not SATA).
Can anyone be of help to me please?
