I have a computer in the office here that is having problems opening Excel
files. When I double-click the xls file, Excel opens, but it doesn't open
the document. It is just a grey screen.
I do get the following error when trying to open the file in an email
"'Windows cannot find "C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\.......\Document.xls'. Make
sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. "
If I open the file from within Excel, it works fine.
I have done a thousand searches and all that comes up mentions a corrupt
Temporary Internet Folder, I cleaned it up and it works for other
applications
Any help would be appreciated.

Under 'Tools', 'Options', 'General' tab, there is a checkbox 'Ignore other
applications' make sure this is not checked.
