Automating WORD97 URGENT!!!!

I am trying to automate a mail merge from visual Basic 6
i have got everthing working apart from when i try to merge to printer.
when i merge to printer the printer dialog box opens and expects a key press
from the key board, i have tried sendkeys but before they are activated
process is passed to word so in effect i need to use a send key in word i
think , i have also tried creating a macro to do this but no luck this is
quite time critical
