Anyone have tips on how to VERIFY someone's certification
status when hiring or promoting an employee?? We have
several employees here that are trying for new positions
and claiming MCSE but have doubtful Microsoft skills. I
would like to verify the status before considering any
promotions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

In today's world, MCSE does not indicate ones knowledge or
experience... MCSE is easily obtained through cheating by
using materials known as braindumps. My guess is that if
these clowns DO, in fact, have an MCSE cert, and you doubt
their skills, they almost assuredly obtained them by
cheating (happens all to often). Do not use an MCSE
certificate as a factor of employing for those
positions... get the ones that have experience... a
working knowledge. Weed them out by asking them
questions... If you are not in IT yourself, have someone
from your existing IT department come in to ask them
technical questions... You will find out faster than you
would expect whether they have any ability at all....

But, on the otherhand, if you are willing to gamble and
are prepared to lose your systems and possibly your own
job... feel free to ask them to provide their MCSE
certificate, MCSE ID card, and have them log on to the MCP
site, and show you their transcript. Again, this would be
stupid to do because if you have any doubt about their
skills... then they probabaly don't have any (skills).

Thanks Tom. I appt the contact.
Thanks also Cowboy, but I knew all that. It is a
REQUIRMENT to have your MCSE to get several positions (as
in most Microsoft based systems) in my workplace. IDs,
Transcripts, and other documents are very very easily
faked. I could be a doctor in a couple of days based on
that....I needed verification from Microsoft.

David, I have never seen the last name MCSE. But anyway,
perhaps you want to check their skiils but not the
certifications. Who cares about this piece of paper
anymore? If you need them to do he job, check their
hands-on skills!
You won't regret later.
