I responded a post on the newsgroup. The subject was: Pass your Win2k test
TODAY!!!!
Then, it gave this address: http://www.itstudyguides.com

I went to check it out and these fools are selling 'study guides' for $25.
They will even give you half your money back if you blow the exam. Wow!
half my money! What a deal. I e-mailed them and told them this:

You must be drunk if you think people are going to front money for a 'study
guide' from some no name web site. You don't even have a sample of your
product! You might as well try to sell the wind.

They e-mailed me back today with this wonderful, professional response:

Powerslave,

Hmm...these are interesting points you brought up.
However, we already have had 48 sales this week.
We do intend to start giving out a FREE Windows Exchange Server 5.5 guide.
We are finishing it right now.

But your ascertion that we "might as well try to sell the wind" is
completely off-base.
We are a new site and are happy with the progress, we will release the
Exchange 5.5 for FREE in the very near future.
We are also working on a test taking strategy guide that we well also offer
for FREE.
It will focus on the analysis of Microsoft questions.
So that is 2 FREE guides that will be available in the near future for
download.

Tell me Powerslave, since YOU are a marketing genius and successeful
business developer,
how would YOU setup the business model?

Regards,

Admin

Where do I begin...

First off, you got a whole 48 sales?! Look out transcender! Considering
you had over 15,000 hits on your web site, I'd say you are just a cruising
for success.

Second, any business worth anything might have waited until they had a
sample ready before the big business launch. You might have tried 'working
on it' before hand.

Third, and most important... How the can you trust a 'study guide' from a gu
y that can't spell, or even worse... He isn't even smart enough to use the
spell checker in his e-mail software. The word is 'assertion' and
'successful'. What a freaking moron. Again, to all the newbies: Stay away
from crap like this.

Up the Irons!

Great story, well spotted, they will probably all retire next week and spend
their profits from their 48 sales! They haven't any samples yet as their
man hasn't returned from the test centre with the questions yet!
