Hi There,

I have an existing network, with my main computer running
winxp, a laptop running windows me, and I am trying to add
a desktop running windows 98. I have installed the
wireless pci card, and entered the correct network
settings in their software, and it shows a good connection
to the network.
I try to install the microsoft broadband networking
software, but am having problems detecting the base
station.
I have determined that the ip address of the win98
computer is not in the correct range for the base station
mn-500.
How do I change the ip address so it is in the correct
range. I was advised to change the setting so that it
automatically detects an ip address, but it doesn't seem
to change to the proper range.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Shawn.

Go to Control Panel|Network. Open the properties for TCP/IP
(you may have multiple, so check the one for the wireless
net). Change the IP to something in the 192.168.2.x subnet,
mask 255.255.255.0, DNS and gateway to 192.168.2.1. Make
sure that the IP is outside of the DHCP range in the router
LAN screen (you can change the range on the router screen).

While you are on the Network settings verify that File and
Printer sharing is enabled, i.e. if you plan to share
documents back and forth with that computer.
