I have upgraded from Sharepoint 2.0 to 3.0 on our SBS 2003 without any
problems. The Server is also our Exchange Server and SMTP is installed as
indicated by Echange System Manager. However, in investigating on the
internet for a solution to the Error message:
'The SMTP Service is not installed. For information about the SMTP service
requirement see Windows Services Help. For information about installing the
SMTP servicew, see the Windows Help System', I get the impression that I need
to do something on IIS to activate SMTP for my Sharepoint site but I am
confused what I should be doing exactly. In short I cannot select Automatic
Mode (greyed out) when enabling Incoming E-mail as I am not keen to set it up
as Advanced Mode.
Please can someone help me to set this up, as I am rather lost at the moment .
