Hi,

Q:
I am unable to open Orchestration wizard in BizTalk2002

Seneraio:
Previously my system(windos2000 Server) has Biztalk2000 and
Visio Sr-1.
When I got Biztalk2002 & Viso2002[Enterprise Architect] in
March MSDN,

I installed Visio2002 first. Then i uninstalled Biztalk2000
and i Installed Biztalk2002. But when i try to open
Orchestration it's not opening.

My assumption is Since Orchestration needs Visio, i am
thinking Visio2002 won't support It'

Can any one throuw some light on this[How i can again work
with Orchestration] is i am missing some thing?.

Hi Sreedhar, BizTalk 2002 should work fine with Visio 2002. Are you getting any errors in the event log? Is orchestration (or visio) flashing up on the
screen and then going away? Also, open up Windows Task Manager and on the processes tab see if visio.exe is listed there when you try to run
orchestration and it fails to load.

Yes,
Once i run Orchestration, it's comming like a flash and
it's closing.
In task manager Visio.exe is shuwing up like running in
process and Immediately CPU time comming to 0 for
visio.exe.

In event log -> i am seeing two messesages each time when i
open 1. Failed Connect to Server Error:0x800401F0 ,
Misinstaller[source]

2. Product:Microsoft visio For Enterprise Architect
Configuration successfull

Can you please tell me what is the solution for this

Thanks
Sreedhar

Well, the first error tells me that the Windows Installer is maybe having a problem. Does Visio run if you just run Visio instead of trying to launch
orchestration? I'd recommend killing visio.exe out of running processes before trying this. The installer error sounds like visio install might be missing a
file or configuration option.
You may also want to try installing Windows Installer 2.0 and see if this gets rid of the first error. You can find it at

I had the same problem
but i found the solution
You need to select VBA during visio2002 installation

Hi Everyone,

I had this problem too, registering the DLL didn't work, installing the
installation wizard 2.0 didn't work, and reinstalling Visio doesn't seemed
to work either.

But... When I tried a complete UNinstall first, and then reinstalled Visio
(there's no obvious uninstall in the add/remove programs), the setup also
re-installed VBA dlls and some more. And that did the trick!

I hope this helps some of you...
