I'm trying to define a progress dimension for what is unfortunately a very
complex orchestration. But for purposes of this particular question I think
I can simplify it a bit. At some point I receive and order. Sometime later I
receive a message, the contents of which indicate if the order payment has
been authorized or if the order has been cancelled. In my orchestration I
have a decision shape that evaluates that message. If the message indicatest
he payment is authorized, I go down a path with lots of shapes for further
order processing. If however the order was cancelled, I'm essentially done.
That branch of the decision shape basically does nothing and goes down to
the end of the orchestration.

I have an OrderAuthorized milestone defined for my Order activity. I can
easily map that to a shape on the Authorized branch of the Authorization
Decision shape.

I have an OrderCancelled milestone defined for my Order activity, but I'm
not sure what to map it to in the Tracking Profile Editor. The Rule
sub-shape of the Decision shape isn't mappable. Neither is the stop sign
that ends the orchestration. The only thing in the general vicinity that's
mappable is if I select the Decision shape itself, right-click the
OrderCancelled milestone in the Activity pane, and choose "Associate with
the end of the selected action". I'm just wondering how that would work. If
I associate an OrderAuthorized milestone with a shape on the authorized
branch of the Decision shape and associate the OrderCancelled milestone with
the end of the Decision shape will I be able to have a pivot table that
shows me the break down of Orders into Authorizing (a transitory state
associated with the OrderReceived shape/milestone), OrdersAuthorized, and
OrdersCancelled?

I hope that question is at least remotely comprehensible. Thanks for any
assistance.
