Job Description: Senior DevOps
Location: Denver, CO
Duration: 12 Months
Client: (Large Telecom Company)
Start: Immediate

This individual will be part of a DevOps team working on multiple applications that monitors the health of the cable network and detects issues.
The application is a critical, Tier 1 application, and is used 24/7.
This person would be part of a cross-functional team, working directly with software developers, DBAs, project managers, testers, and Ops resources.
This resource will perform application support and maintenance, participate in an on-call rotation, and perform activities such as creating and analyzing application level monitoring tools, and configuring and troubleshooting all aspects of the application architecture.

· Provide Operations expertise in partnership with the developers to ensure application resiliency and stability are built into the software development lifecycle.
Build tools for automation of application monitoring, software deployments, and other components of infrastructure
· Create, support, maintain and deploy team-supported infrastructure and documentation.
· Work in a fast paced environment while ensuring the uptime and availability of our Tier 1 application.
· Participate in on-call rotation, once application is in production.
· Respond to tickets within team defined Service Level Agreements (SLA).
· Work closely with various network and software engineering and development teams.
Maintain test and production environments.
Responsible for maintaining documentation of policies and procedures for various tasks related to the operation of the environments.
Assist engineering departments in the identification and resolution of software/platform related issues.

Requirements
· BA/BS degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
· Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting the Unix/Linux operating system, Internet-based applications, and web servers.
· Scripting experience in actively writing/modifying code to improve monitoring and automation (Perl, Python, Shell, etc).
· Experience with application monitoring tools such as Wiley, AppDynamics, or equivalent.
· Working experience with TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, etc)
Strong experience with storage, load balancing, and other technologies in a high volume, high transaction environment.
