FTP receive adapter problem

Hi,
I am using MS FTP adapter at Receive location to pull out files from ftp location.I configured address , user id , password , file mask , folder and ,Log file.
The problem is that it is not picking file from ftp location.even it is not giving an eror in event log and there is no log file at given location.
but when i slightly change userid or other thing like folder then it is giving error in event log.
my concern is that why it is not picking file, and why it is not giving any error.

I've found BizTalk's built-in FTP adapter to be very flaky. I haven't
done full research, but I don't think it works with all the various
FTP servers that are out there.
We happened to have a third party FTP adapter that we bought to do
secure FTP (from /nsoftware), and we've gone as far as to use that
across the board for all our FTP needs (secure or not).

Have you tried putting a packet sniffer on it, like netmon and see if you get
any additional information that way?
