Hi,

We are currently using Biztalk 2004 with Hipaa accelerator 3.0.We are
planning to upgrade to the new version of Biztalk 2009 and i want to know
which latest version of HIPAA accelerator is compatible with this
server. There is not much information on the Microsoft's Biztalk server
website regarding the same.

Thanks in Advance,
Suchitra

Suchitra,

In BizTalk 2009, the EDI engine built-in supports HIPAA Transaction, and
thus no need to install HIPAA Accelerator like prior versions. You can read
the details from below URL:
http://www.microsoft.com/biztalk/en/us/accelerator-hipaa.aspx

BizTalk Accelerator for HIPAA 3.3 was the last / final release of an
accelerator for HIPAA transactions. There is no HIPAA Accelerator for
BizTalk Server 2006 R2 and BizTalk Server 2009.

With BizTalk Server 2009, processing HIPAA EDI is built into the product.
HIPAA specific 004010A1 schemas come bundled with the product.

Also, while BizTalk 2009 has been released the 5010 schemas are still in
beta. 5010 version HIPAA schemas will not be available for previous
versions of BizTalk

We are making plans for 5010 in Biztalk. I'm getting a lot of double-speak
regarding this issue. We are currently using Biz2006 R2. Once the 5010
xsd's for Biztalk 2009 are released, can I use them for Biz2006 R2? I
realize that there will be some changes required to the maps and outbound
schemas to accommodate 5010, but if I can't even use the xsd's for the 837P,
I & D for 5010 for the input, then that is huge.

Can you help me track this down?

I'm about 95% sure you'll need BizTalk 2009 to leverage the HIPAA 5010
schemas.

Thanks,
Dan
