SMS 2003 Installation/setup failure.

I'm having an issue with installing SBS 2003. The initial install of the os
goes fine but when I start the "Continue Setup" wizard to install the sbs
tools and features I receive the following message " A problen has been
encountered when installing the setup files. Setup Canceled."
I get this shortly after I have made my feature selections in the wizard
(admin tools, fax, exchange, etc.) and the confirmation screen and it begins
to install those items. The message doesnt give any specifics about the
failure.
It looks like it may be an early release of sbs 2003 on dvd's as it does not
come with any service packs installed. I also have an eval version of sbs
2003 on cd's that comes with service pack 1 installed and that seems to
install just fine so I am not certain if there is some weird installation
issues with the earlier releases....
Machine specifics:
Dual xeon processors with HT,
4gb or ram
3 drives configured for raid 5 with two logical drives defined as c:\
40gb(Windows OS) and D:\ 100gb (User Data and program files)
1 gigbit lan for local netowrk and one wireless-b adapter for internet access
one pci modem for fax.
Any help would be appreciated.
