Having a small problem at an XP workstation. When the user starts
Outlook 2000, she receives the error message "Unable to open your
default mail folders" followed by something about not having
permission to log on. This might stem from the fact that she didn't
have an account on that particular workstation when it first joined
the SBS 2K network.

Questions: (1) What is the definitive way to add a user to a
workstation in an SBS 2K installation, and (2) how do I solve this
specific problem?

1. May not be definitive, but just create the user account on SBS 2000
Using the Wizard, and have the User log on from the workstation with the
created User Name and Password, and then when prompted allow all the
Software and settings to install for that profile. ( Note: The user may
need to be a member of Local Admins on the Computer for some S/W to
install. )

2. The problem you're experiencing is caused because the Mail Account has
not been changed to the Logged-On user and so Outlook is trying to
connect to the wrong mailbox, and the credentials don't match.

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mail
and set the Exchange e'Mail account to that of the Logged-On User.
