I can't find a Data Model diagram of Dynamics AX. The online reference lists
me all table relations, but I would need an optical view of the relations.
Where can I find this?

Thanks.

You can use the re-engineering feature is AX to produce your own data models
in Visio or ERWin if you have their latest version that handles the .erx
extension. I usually scope out an area of interest and then modify the
options in Visio to give me the type of diagram I like to work with. I have
worked with AX since Axapta 3.0 but I have never seen an 'out of the box'
data model if thats what you are looking for. If you find one please let me
know! With more than 2000 tables they would still need to break it out by
'subject area' to be useful to me. Being an ex data modeller / analyst I
guess I have expectations!

Hi,

It's AX 4.0 but it's the only data model document now. Also the structure is
approximately same as AX 2009. It's prepared by Microsoft.

Well .... better late than never. I have been preparing my own for a few
years and I see the date on the document is Sept 2008 and it says 'prepared
for Microsoft'. In any event, thanks for pointing me to this document. If the
structure is basically the same for AX 2009 thats a big plus.

Cheers

Hi Anil,

many thanks, this is quite in the direction I've been looking for and will
help certainly.
