When designing a compatible collar for the Invisible Fence Brand systems, Perimeter wanted to improve the collar in every way possible. They made their invisible fence collar lighter in weight (only 1.1oz) with a low battery indicator light. The collar is not only waterproof but submersible in water up to 10ft deep. The correction is fully automatic (no manual settings) with 4 levels of progressive static correction. It also has run-through prevention that delivers the highest correction level to stop your dog from running out of your yard. They even use a special manufacturing process, impregnating a conductive material with soft rubber, to create comfortable contact probes and prevent skin irritation.

Change the metal prongs on the receiver. Most receivers come with two sets of prongs: short prongs for short-haired dogs, and long prongs for dogs with long or thick fur. Be sure the prongs are touching the dog's neck. Use the long prongs if your dog is not being shocked when he runs past the invisible fence. Thick or long fur might be impeding the receiver from working properly.

Some invisible pet fences include a battery tester with the fence system. Place this on the collar and walk past the boundary wire. If the tester lights up and you hear the audible warning given by the collar, the battery is functioning properly. If you hear the warning, but no light flashes, replace the battery.

All invisible fence systems have some type of indicator light on the transmitter that shows if the system is functioning and there is no break in the boundary wire. It may be a single light that goes out when the wire is broken; an alarm may also sound or there may be several lights that flash. If all lights go out or no warnings sounds occur, your transmitter may have experienced a lightning surge. You can repair this by resetting the transmitter.
