Dear All,

I got an error in both my attempts to deploy AX 2009 reports:

"The following components have not been installed or are not configured
correctly:
AL.exe
Microsoft Domain-Specific Language Tools
Please consult your administrator or the documentation"

Does any one knows how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi

You need to instal VS2008 components.

Hi,

I have the same problem :

The following components have not been installed or are not configured
correctly:
AL.exe

Please consult your administrator or the documentation.
The deployment log file can be found at "C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\1\tmp1C.txt"

Exactly what component should I install?

Regards

Magnus

You probably need to install the following:

Windows 2008 SDK (regardless of what OS you are on, you need the Windows
2008 SDK)
Visual Studio shell (isolated mode).

Do a search on the web, and you will find the download links for both.

Well, just installed the Windows SDK and the visual studio shell. Not working
still.

I did manage to get it working on another pc by installing Visual Studio
2008. Then the SysReportLibraryExport class compiles correctly and the
deployment works.

But we cannot expect customers to buy visual studio when they want Ax right??

Hi Kenny

did you get it working? I have the same issues. No idea what to do and, as
you've said, I don't want to install Visual Studio 2008 entirely. Just the
tools needed.

Hi guido,

Yes I managed to get it working. The clue is to install the Windows 2008 SDK
and the visual studio shell BEFORE the .net business connector. Then when
installing the Business connector the extra namespaces will be ok.

A couple of remarks though. when Exporting the Report Libraries it may be
needed to copy the al.exe from "C:\Program files\microsoft sdks\windows\6.1"
to "C:\Program files\microsoft sdks\windows\6.0A"

If you still have problems, please feel free to contact me on
"kenny....@dolmen.be".

PS : I am dutch and by your name I am guessing you to so you can proceed in
dutch if you want.

You shouldn't have to re-install everything. Just install the VS S008
isolated mode and the windows server 2008 SDK. The VS Isolated mode is kind
of tricky. After you download it and run the exe it acts like it is
installed but it isn't. That just extracts the files. You have to brows to
the folder for the isolated mode shell under program files and run the exe
there to actually install it.
