I have the downloaded VPC imsge of AX2009.VHD preparing for class 80011.
How do I get the development tab to appear on the options form?

Hi,

as far as i know the VPC image has more then one user configured to get
access to/work with AX. If you use the ADministartor you should normally have
no problems accessing the development tab (and environment).

Did you checked that the user you are using has access to the development
security-keys? Couls be possible that your user hasen't access to it.

Last time I saw that it was related to the license key. The license key that comes with the VPC expires and the development tab is no longer available. The only way I got it to work was to import our corporate key in the image and then the development tab appeared.

Hope this helps.

You may be on track - but I have no corporate license. I may have to chase
MS Learning.

THE VPC has an AXAdmin account, which is a member of a Web Servgice Security
group. But that account does not reveal Development tab either. Another
feedback suggested the licence expired on the VPC. Where do I learn about
checking a users access to featrures or about licenses?

Hi,

please take a look at the administration help file which comes with AX.
(Go to: Help->System and Application setup)
You can also take a look at the courses for implementing and administering
Dynamics AX.

But in short, please check the following:
Expiry date of your License:
(Go to: Administration->Setup->System->License information)

Access rights for your user(s):
(Go to: Administration->Setup->User groups->Select the right group->click
permissions)
In the opening window please go to the Permissions tab. There your can see
all the permissionsettings for the selected User-Group.

Hope this helps you.

Yup. Licence Expiry 2006. Nothing in Groups suggests anythiong Development
Wise. But I was using the AXAdmin user which is in the Administration group.
Do I chase Microsoft Learning now? Why provide an image I can't work with?
Do you have any connections or ideas how to fix the licence?
